G.O.Y.A. (Greek Orthodox Youth Association)

GOYA ministry leads our young people into experiencing our Orthodox Faith through worship, fellowship, and philanthropy. GOYA welcomes youths from 7th to 12th grades. We participate in a wide variety of fellowship activities, as was as, offer our service and assistance to our church community, festival, charities, and philanthropic activities. We meet every second Sunday of the month.

Community Service Projects

  • St. Aloysius Kitchen; served meals to the homeless
  • Capuchin Soup Kitchen; served meals to the homeless
  • Children’s Hospital of Michigan: hand-made blankets for patients 
  • Race for the Cure
  • Made sandwiches for distribution to the homeless at Easter
  • Blessings in a Backpack: prepared backpacks of food and snacks for fellow students in need

St. Nicholas Church Service Projects

  • Opa! Fest Goya Booth raised over $6953 for the church
  • Raised over $1000 for MDSC Summer Camp by helping to organize the 'For the Love of Camp' Dance
  • St. Nicholas Coffee Social for Philoptochos
  • Flower plantings for the church
  • Assisted Parish Council set up, serve, and clean-up for the Anastasi meal
  • GOYA Fundraisers:

  • Feather Party Concession
  • Buffalo Wild Wings Fundraiser
  • Including an anonymous donation of $2,400, Goyans raised a total of $4,260.00!
